We’re Back! But stressed

I guess it may be obvious I haven’t had time to get into the GoingNoWherFastRV website in a long while.  I can’t believe the last post was May!  What a crazy summer it has been.

We had a leadership change at my office and so I have a new boss. There have been many little changes that have kept me slightly off balance.  I tend to bring work home with me when there are open issues and things bother my brain until they get straightened out. I call it “Brain Chatter” as things echo around in my head about what happened and what should be done and how to accomplish things to make the overall work environment safer and better.  This entire post may come out as “Chatter”.

I am also working on several other “Plans” for next year (a pivotal change year), and the Big RV Show in 2 weeks, and a major remodel job on my house in 4 weeks.  Still considering if I want to do a  video on the house remodel as it isn’t going to be that big a change.  It’s just going to make me happier.  So my time is tight with scheduling and activities. Of course, the “Boy” with his sticks and balls requires several hours of attention every day also.  So only after I get him worn down chasing balls can I get a decent amount of work done on video’s and social media.

The Brain chatter also mixes in things I’m obsessed about like larger RV’s and Aliner Repairs I have done, things that need to be done. Things I’ve done I might want to change.  Whether I want to upgrade to a full size trailer.  What kind, what size, what equipment?  It is all  exploding my brain with considerations and conflicts.  And, the least of it all is my obsession with my lawn and trying to take it back from the weeds.  I think it probably would be best if I just let it get taken over and ignore it. But the weeds tend to leave bare spots of mud that Akela loves to slide through and then carry as much of the mud into the house as possible.  You will notice I’m not too concerned about the filthy condition of my house. But I do get a bit squeamish getting into bed when there are muddy paw prints and muddy tail outlines around my pillows. Somewhere priorities have to prevail!  But, let the dust fall where it may!

But it all comes down to distractions and lack of focus on my part.  Eventually we will get focused.  I greatly appreciate your patience and loyalty to hanging in there while I gather the additional  information about my travels.  However, I would like to ask for a small contribution from “ya’all” if possible.   I am planning the “Big Trip” for summer 2023.  If you have some good places to see or go to in the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota,  etc., I would greatly appreciate it.  I hoping to get up around Lake Superior and west to Yellowstone in the course of 120 days. So not a fast trip.  Looking to make my route hit good places about 100-200miles apart.  Forest Boondocking sites are good (No Walmarts or parking lots for me).  National Forest Campgrounds are good. Municipal campgrounds are super gems that are so hard to find.   Any recommendation you can make, I’ll greatly appreciate!  But, this is definitely a leisurely relaxed crawl across the country.

So this will be a quick and dirty post while I’m eating lunch at work and I will get some video details posted in the next few days.  I have enjoyed some super wonderful camping trips in the last few months and feel like I should really let you in on the great places I have visited.  So check back in a week or two!!

Thanks for stopping by,  We will return very soon!

  1. How exciting! Looking forward to catching up with your vlogs and life. Mine is crazy.

    1. Isn’t that the truth?! Life is crazy!! I thought it was suppose to be cool, calm, and collected! Why is everything such a rush and so important. Every need to SLOW DOWN!! It’s enough to make you drink…. So I’m going for a chocolate Milkshake !! My Kind of Drink!!

      1. Ha ha ha. I have missed my YouTuber regulars – but I am staying home with the heat! Suppose to be 114 on Tuesday! I have cut back on my hours to get some things done in my home and looking forward to cooler outdoor weather! Oh my, there is a chocolate Drumstick calling my name!

Akela is looking good and he needs that exercise, and so do you, lol. Glad you have him.

        1. I was trying to stay home and work on my house, but its tough to get anything done when someone keeps dropping a slobbery ball on you every 3 minutes. So we have to go looking for cool clean water to play in. I’m a “Kept Master”.

    1. Weeds love mud, Akela loves mud, My House likes mud, I prefer clean! Also weeds don’t do as good a job of holding the mud in place when it rains!

  2. Sounds like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is in your path. Lake Superior is a must see on the south shore and north shore(Canada). Lived here many decades and camped my way around the lake more than once. I can only imagine magnitude of comments you’ll get from us Yoopers.
Besides recommending sites, I can say from experience that our campgrounds get super full in the summer. We’ve been discovered and it’s kinda hard to get a reservation. Most folks reserve in the dead of winter to be sure they have a site.
Just for starters, east to west:
See the Soo Locks at Sault St. Marie. I haven’t found the camping in that area very exciting tho. Just average. Still worth the visit. Travel the shore to Tahquamenon Fall State park . Then west to Munising and see the Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. Then west to Marquette ( my home) . It’s busy in the summer but an active spot. Tourist Park or our favorite– Perkins Park (in Big Bay). There are many state forest camps along this route you a=can check out, but the National Forest Campgrounds are much better.
Stop in and say HI if you have time. There are many other sites going west from Marquette and if you want more, let’s “talk” some more.
You have my email. That works best.

  3. Sounds like a LOT going on! Looking forward to the trip reports next year! It sounds like a wonderful trip! No help here, tho. Missouri doesn’t sound like it’s on your path.

    1. I’m hoping so. Its time to see the best parts of the country, and forget about chasing money!

  4. Good to hear from you, thought maybe you took a long European vacation.
