IS COVID Over?

Well, it is at my factory.  I’m not saying we have said it is a hoax, but we are saying that a few hundred people got sick, they all got over it.  We have many hundred vaccinated now, and the incidence of new cases is practically zero week to week.  We encourage people to get one of the 3 vaccines (I got the J&J one).  But when I talk to people about why they are not getting vaccinated, they always respond with something like “And Be part of a world experiment in DNA Manipulation because of a Chinese virus weapon to kill off white people”.   My usual response is “Then you’re more interested in being part of the experiment with the deadly virus than the one with our USA medical system”?  It really does not make much sense. 800 million people have had the vaccines.  Unexpected adverse effects have happened about 1 out of every million.  And those are now correlated to several pre-existing conditions (Pregnancy, Heart Issues, Certain Drugs) which are most likely to have a complication with the vaccine.  Comparably it is 300 times safer then the polio vaccine of the 1940’s.  Just saying.

But we got a few videos out the last few weeks. And over all I think they are good videos.  My series on the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will continue as soon as I get a reservation

at Cades Cove.  That is the last campground for me.  I may have to reserve a group site and invite all my readers/viewers to come and enjoy the park with me.  I’m planning on doing that when I hit 10,000 subscribers. At that point I can do live stream videos and really enjoy some interaction with my friends.

To go back a little bit, I did another Pancake cooking show in June and was surprised that I got almost 3 times the views as when I did the same Pancake cooking show at home during the winter.  Apparently people like to see how its done in camp.  I will try to do some more in depth cooking out on the trail or campsite in the near future.  I didn’t realize food was of interest.  LOL.  If you leave me Thumbs ups or Comments, it tells me what is most popular! Though truthfully I am usually doing videos based on what Akela wants to do !!  He is the Director, Editor, Producer and BOSS!

The Rock Creek Water Falls Video was a great hike and wonderful treat of beautiful outdoor scenery.  I was not in good shape for the video. I have been spending too much time behind a desk and not enough hiking time. Let me repeat,  Work can kill you if your not careful.  The other thing that really made that hike a little challenging is that I had just started to try to control my blood pressure. So I was on meds I had not taken for a long time before, and was a little lagging from that.  In the last 5 or so years my Blood pressure has been around 160/90.  Not really terribly bad, but damaging to your kidneys and liver and blood vessels. So I decided to partner with a decent doctor and we are working to keep it down around 130/85. And I will tell you, it feels like I am half asleep some of the time.  I’m not sure my brain is getting any blood. What little brain I have.  So we are trying this out for 6months to a year to see if I can “Acclimate” to it or if I’ll decide to die of Liver failure at 75.  In either case, I’m not giving up any of these great hikes, so while you are watching the video, give me a little push when you see me on the hard parts!!

Lake Sinclair is typical of my travels and excursions through the states around here.  When I was up north in NY, I knew all the places, all the great campsites and forest adventures.  I lived all over the state and traveled all through the North east and Canada my whole life. So, I always went direct from home to destination “A”.  Down here, I know nothing, so I try to take a different route back and forth from camp to the store or from one attraction to the next.  I hate the Interstates (though when time is short, they sure help, if they aren’t under construction). There are so many amazing places along the US Highway Routes.   This time I saw a sign along the road that said “Recreation Area”  turn here and we followed it for a few miles.  It turned out to be a great little place. Very Cheap, very well equipped, and very lightly used.  And so much to do on the lake and in the surrounding forest.  I’m planning to go back in the winter when I may want electricity for heating.  I found another video on YouTube that is a drone flying all over the lake. It appears to be mostly over the far end of the lake which has a lot of big beautiful homes. Check out that video if you want to see some nice commercial drone footage!  (I don’t have their link-sorry)

The Ocmulgee (Oak-mull-gee) Indian mounds were first found when I did the Antebellum trail video. We only had a short time to explore it then, so could not get enough video for a post. But we are sure glad we went back and got the full story on video.  It is a great step back into the history of this great land.  So much to see and so much to study of people that had a full and vigorous society thousands of years ago.  And then they just disappeared??  I wonder what will be left of us in 5000 years??  I love those kinds of ancient history and artifacts. Check out some of my “History Playlist “ videos.

Well, I better get to cleaning the house!  I have visitors coming next month. And it will take me and Akela all month to clean up the mud I track in, the hair that’s everywhere I believe is from Akela, and somehow all these sticks that are hid behind every chair and bed!   How does he get them in here !!  We’ll see you later!  Stay Safe!
